Dr. Sarah Evans received her Bachelor of Science degree (Sc.B.) from Brown University in 1997 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Auburn University in 2001. She completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Tennessee and a Surgical Internship at the Hollywood Animal Hospital in south Florida.
From there she matched for a three-year Residency in Small Animal Surgery at the elite Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following her residency, Dr. Evans returned to south Florida in 2006 for the next several years. In 2016 she headed north to her home state of Kentucky, but thankfully has returned “home” to south Florida again. Dr. Evans performs soft tissue surgery (including thoracic, abdominal, facial, etc.), as well as orthopedic (fractures, TPLOs, etc.) and neurosurgery (hemilaminectomies, ventral slots) on dogs and cats. As a surgeon, pain control is one of Dr. Evans’ primary concerns.
In her spare time, Dr. Evans spends as much time as possible with her family and relaxing at the beach. She will also be found volunteering to operate for local zoos and wildlife safaris. She loves chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, watching ice hockey, and swimming.
