For Dr. Carmen Colitz, every day is a blessing and an opportunity to use her veterinary skills to improve the lives of animals. Dr. Colitz earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Ph.D. in Comparative and Experimental Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1993 and 1996, respectively. Dr. Federico Latimer earnedhis undergraduate degreefrom Villanova University, and he then completed the first of two Master’s degrees at Penn State University. He earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1984, and a second Master’s Degree in 1984. He then entered private practice in Puerto Rico until 1987. [READ MORE]
Dr. Wendy Lavalle developed a passion for oncology after her own dog, Nickita, a golden retriever, was diagnosed with a cancer called malignant melanoma. At that time, the treatment options available were not as effective as they are today. After graduating from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, she completed an Oncology Internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists. [READ MORE]
Dr. Carpenter grew up in Greenville S.C and served 6 years in the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he completed a Bachelors of Sciences in Biology and Chemistry at Charleston Southern University in 1996. He then received his DVM from Mississippi State University in 2000, completed an Internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University in 2001 and finished a residency in Comparative Cardiology at the University of Minnesota in 2004. Dr. Yang grew up in Houston, TX and completed both her undergraduate and professional studies at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) in College Station, TX. After graduating with her DVM from Texas A&M in 2015, she completed an internship in small animal surgery and medicine at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with plans on returning to Texas afterwards. Dr. Michael Geraghty brings 19 years of experience as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dr. Geraghty is a 1996 graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Geraghty spends his time off with his wife and four boys on south Florida’s beautiful beaches.
Dr. Denise Davidson brings 11 years of experience as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dr. Davidson is a 2002 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Davidson spends her time off enjoying her four-legged “kids”, good friends and walks on the beach.
Dr. Crystal Kolleda-Welling brings 11 years of experience as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dr. Kolleda-Welling is a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
